I'll Be Ready

Rhi still hasn't got around to writing her post, and probably won't for at least another week as she's in Dargaville at the moment. And apparently they don't believe in internet there, or something. They also (apparently) ride cows around...

I haven't left the house in three days, mostly due to the weather being so shit, but also partly because I bought season 1 and 2 of Baywatch. It's almost as good as the original 90210. Almost.
I mentioned in my last post how so many of the 90s trends have come back to life, well, aside from the high cut swimsuits, so many of the clothes in Baywatch are fashionable again.

Top: Opening Ceremony, Cardigan: Rag & Bone, Shorts: General Pants, Boots: Tina Leigh, Sunglasses: Ray Ban Classic Clubmaster

As you can see, this is a pretty simple outfit, inspired by the off-duty clothes of the Baywatch lifeguards.

Things I Love

1. Photography

Photography is awesome, in that you don't actually have to be that creative to get a good photo. For those of us who can't draw, paint, sew or design, it's pretty satisfying when you take a decent photograph.
Both of these are off the Ben Trovato Blog. The photography on there is incredible!

2. Architecture

This picture was part of my design board for school this year, inspired by architecture (obviously) and my love of bright colours.

Modern architecture can be really stunning. I love how simple, yet eye-catching, this house is:

3. Cars

I'm a bit of a boy at heart, I just really love cars! Mostly European ones - I'm a car snob - but some of the older American ones are pretty cool too.

4. Music

I have the weirdest music taste possible, but occasionally I do find a song or two that other people actually like! These are a few that I've had stuck on repeat lately:

And my all time favourite song:

5. The 90s

I'm slightly obsessed with the original Beverly Hills 90210. I love looking at the outfits they wear on the show, because so many of these trends have come back recently.

6. Coffee

I think the word 'addiction' sums up my relationship with coffee pretty well. And it isn't a cheap addiction either - my budget for next year includes $30 a week for my daily caffeine fix.

7. The Sea

Ever since I was a little kid, I always loved swimming in the sea. As I grew up, I started to enjoy watching the sea. Our beach house overlooks the ocean and it's amazing how the view changes every single day. On stormy days the sea looks completely white, on sunny days it goes that beautiful turquoise colour. Sometimes you might even see dolphins.

That said, I still love a good swim in the waves.

Rhi hasn't got around to posting yet because she's been really busy. Buuuut, SHE GOT INTO WHITECLIFFE!!

Wow, I'd forgotten about this

I doubt anyone still reads this blog since we stopped updating over a year ago, but since Rhi is going to be a hipster next year (well, not really) I told her that she has to have a blog.

I honestly don't even know what the point of this blog is, but I guess music, fashion and art would probably be three of our favourite things - so that's what we'll blog about. And anything else we feel like...

I guess in tradional blog fashion, I should probably introduce myself a bit better. I really hate writing about myself, so we've decided we'll write about each other - especially since I think Rhi knows me better than my own parents.

Rhian is 17 - she actually turns 18 tomorrow - and has lived in Auckland for most of her life. She's actually English, from a small town called Hereford, and is part Welsh.
She has an awesome girlfriend of over a year now, and an even awesomer best friend of about four years (meeeee).

Rhi loves photography and design, and she's INSANELY good at it. She has an interview at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design tomorrow, so wish her luck guys - not that she needs it!

It's really hard to write about her because there's no way I can fit four years of friendship into one blog post! Basically we're complete opposites. But not as much as we used to be, back when she was going through her punk phase and I was a girly girl who wore pink polos.

I'm going to leave you all with some photos from the night we got drunk and decided to make daisy chains. I have a slight addiction to the Hipstamatic app, as you can see.
